  25. according to news I read yesterday, Escom has raised a substantial amount of
  26. capital from banks and shares.  Hopefully this will keep them solvent.
  27. It is my view that the massive loss was due in part to spending a large amount
  28. of money on new stores in the UK, and the purchase and start up of the Amiga
  29. line. Plus lower than expected sales over x-mas.

  31. as long as they don't go spending to much this year they should be OK.

  33. though it seems to be the computer industry world wide is in a bit of a
  34. downturn at the moment.  I hope this is a short term phenomina.
